Y2Kode is a series of interactive CSS illustrations inspired by nostalgic objects that shaped the lives of late Millennials and early Gen Z. Souvenirs ranging from flip phones to Tamagotchis evoke emotions and connections from our formative years.

In On Nostalgia, David Berry highlights how nostalgia often arises during times of uncertainty, offering comfort by returning to familiar symbols of the past. Y2Kode reflects this by transforming Y2K-era objects into interactive experiences, reimagining them as anchors of memory in an ever-changing digital landscape. The project explores how technology not only preserves these symbols but also recontextualizes them, inviting users to interact with the past while reflecting on its role in shaping identity and emotional connection in the present.
